The life of the literature novelist

In the tranquil municipality of Aracataca, Colombia, on March 6, 1927, one of the greatest literary figures of the 20th century came into the world: Gabriel García Márquez. From his childhood, surrounded by stories told by his grandparents, he began to forge his passion for narrative. He began his educational journey in schools in Zipaquirá and Barranquilla. Later, he enrolled at the National University of Colombia, where he studied Law and Journalism. Although his heart beat more for literature than for the law, his university years were crucial for his intellectual and literary development. In 1958, he sealed his love with Mercedes Barcha, with whom he shared his life until his last days. Their marriage was a fundamental support in his career, providing him with stability and companionship through life's ups and downs.

After completing his university studies, García Márquez immersed himself in journalism, working for various newspapers and magazines. However, his true vocation as a writer began to take off with the publication of his first novel, "La hojarasca," in 1955, followed by other masterpieces such as "One Hundred Years of Solitude" and "Love in the Time of Cholera." With literary success came recognition and the acquisition of a home in Mexico, where he would reside for much of his life. His home became the refuge where he gestated many of his unforgettable stories.

Throughout his career, García Márquez established himself as one of the foremost exponents of magical realism, leaving an indelible legacy in world literature. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1982, a milestone that further catapulted him to international fame. Despite his retirement from active writing, García Márquez never ceased to be an influential figure in the cultural and political spheres. He retired with the satisfaction of having left an indelible mark on the history of world literature. Gabriel García Márquez passed away on April 17, 2014, but his legacy lives on in every page of his works, in every corner of Macondo, and in the hearts of millions of readers worldwide. His life and work are a testament to the transformative power of imagination and the written word.

Writing a report involves critical thinking because it is necessary to analyze, interpret and make sense of the facts, distinguishing between objective information and opinions, as well as identifying biases. It also requires contextualizing the events and reflecting on their impact, maintaining ethical judgment when narrating them.

Similarly, a report also needs media literacy, since it is essential to handle reliable information, understand how the media and information work, and the narratives they build to adapt the message. This ensures that the report like the one i wrote is responsible, honest and relevant, avoiding falling into sensationalism or inappropriate views.
